How we collect, use and protect your personal data

Last updated: May 2026

Who We Are

ATO Insight Solutions Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and its associated platforms. We are a registered company in England and Wales.

We operate under the following trading names: AsktheOwl™, owl.wales, Owl Impact, Cylfaa™, and asktheowl.club.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@owl.wales.

What Data We Collect and Why

Register Your Interest Form

When you complete an interest registration form on our website, we may collect your name, email address, role, organisation name, county, phone number (optional), sectors of interest, and any message you include. We use this to contact you about AsktheOwl™ products and services relevant to your interest. Legal basis: consent.

Cylfaa Challenge Sign-Up

When registering interest in the Cylfaa Challenge, we collect information depending on your audience type:

This data is used to notify you when the Cylfaa Challenge launches and to send relevant updates. Legal basis: consent.

Parent Alerts

Parents can sign up to receive sector-specific careers alerts for their child — including Welsh employer vacancies, apprenticeship opportunities and careers events. We collect email address, child's school, year group and sector interest. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Children's Data

Where students sign up directly (Cylfaa student tab), we collect first name only and school name. We ask students to use a parent or guardian email address if they are under 13. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data from children.

Email Contact

If you contact us by email, we retain your email address and message content in order to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

How We Store Your Data

Form submissions are processed via Netlify Forms, hosted on secure infrastructure. Netlify's privacy policy is available at netlify.com/privacy.

We do not store personal data on our own servers. Data submitted via forms is accessed by ATO Insight Solutions Ltd only for the purpose of responding to your enquiry or sending you the communications you signed up for.

We retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was provided, or until you request its deletion.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your data may be shared with:

All parties with whom we share data are required to handle it in accordance with UK GDPR.
